Tasmania Wilderness

Tasmania wilderness is some of the most spectacular in Australia. It boasts ancient forests with huge trees, wild and remote river systems, beautiful mountain ranges and spectacular isolated beaches.

There are many different areas of Tasmania to see. Some of them are included below:

Freycinet Peninsula

Freycinet peninsula is situated on the east coast of Tasmania. It is home to the world famous wineglass bay with it's crystal clear water and sparkling white sand. Located in Freycinet National Park which boasts some of the most beautiful hiking and rock-climbing in Tasmania. It is also home to the beautiful Freycinet Lodge which is a luxury resort designed to blend in with its scenic surrounds.

Gordon and Franklin Rivers

The Gordon and Franklin Rivers are situated on the western coast of Tasmania. They are part of the Franklin-Gordon Wild Rivers National Park which was made a world heritage area in 1982. This area is often described as some of the most remote and rugged country in the australia wilderness. It has a rich history with numerous Aboriginal sites and one of Australia's harshest convict settlements located here. There are plenty of ways to see this beautiful area of Tasmania with many cruises, white-water rafting trips and even a recently reestablished steam engine rail trip between the west coast towns of Strahan and Queenstown.

Cradle Mountain

Cradle Mountain is one of Tasmania's most famous sights ... and for good reason! Cradle Mountain is known for its rugged peaks that form the appearance of a "cradle" between them. The mountain is situated in the Cradle Mountain-Lake St Clair National Park and is part of the awe-inspiring scenery that is found in this part of Tasmania. Crystal clear, glassy volcanic lakes set amongst ancient rainforests and alpine heathlands make this one truely unique place in the australia wilderness. Days can be spent hiking on a multitude tracks for all levels of experience in this awesome landscape.

Huon Valley

The Huon Valley is located south of Hobart and is home to peaceful waterways and ancient forests. It is beautiful part of Tasmania that boasts the Hastings Caves and Thermal Springs, as well as the Tahune Forest Airwalk which gives visitors a different perspective on the ancient forests below.
