Freycinet Tasmania
Travel guide for Freycinet Peninsula and Wineglass Bay
Freycinet Tasmania is a peninsula located on the East Coast of Tassie. It is well-known for its spectacular coastal scenery and is world-famous for Wineglass Bay.
The main town found on the Freycinet Peninsula is called Coles Bay and is a quiet seaside town that overlooks The Hazards (a peculiarly coloured pink mountain range) found in the Freycinet National Park. Freycinet is famous for its stunning white beaches including Wineglass Bay, which is hidden behind The Hazards in the Freycinet National Park.
Freycinet is perfect for a beach getaway in Tasmania. There are plenty of outdoor activities to do including fishing, kayaking, hiking and even rock-climbing. The Freycinet Lodge provides luxurious accommodation in Freycinet Peninsula offering fresh seafood in their gourmet restaurants overlooking million-dollar views of Freycinet.
Freycinet has limited accommodation and hotels on the Peninsula. By far the best is Freycinet Lodge Coles Bay which offers luxurious accommodation on the edge of the Freycinet National Park. Other options include the Freycinet Marine Farm Cottages Coles Bay which are fully self-contained cottages located in an oyster and mussel farm ... so there will be plenty of fresh seafood!
