Destinations in Tasmania

There are plenty of destinations in Tasmania to visit. Whether you're looking for a quick weekend break to the historic and cosmopolitan city of Hobart, or wanting to escape to the peace and quiet of the beautiful Cradle Mountain National Park, Tasmania has something for everyone.

Below are some ideas on where to visit on your Tasmania Trip.

Launceston

Launceston is the largest city in Northern Tasmania and the second largest in Tasmania (after Hobart). It is one of Australia's oldest cities having been established in 1805 with plenty of beautiful, old historic buildings still well preserved in the city.

Cradle Mountain

Cradle Mountain is one of Tasmania's most famous destinations (and for good reason!). It boasts spectacular scenery in one of the best parts of untouched wilderness in Australia. Named after the iconic mountain in the middle of the National Park, this area has numerous pieces of wilderness to explore.

Hobart

Hobart is the capital of Tasmania and one of Australia's oldest and most beautiful cities. Situated beside the Derwent River with the majestic Mount Wellington towering above, Hobart is one of the most spectacular cities in Australia. Boasting an abundance of things to see and do including the famous Salamanca markets, cruises around the harbour, and art galleries galore. Hobart won't disappoint.
