The Cradle Mountain Tour is a 3 day itinerary that is perfect for a romantic weekend break or a long weekend escape. Drive from Launceston to Cradle Mountain Tasmania and stay in a range of cosy and warm accommodation including the Cradle Mountain Chateau or Cradle Mountain Lodge.

Cradle Mountain Tasmania

Day 1: Arrive in Launceston airport and hire a car. After you have got your luggage set off for Cradle Mountain (about 2 hours by car). Once you arrive check into the cosy Cradle Mountain Chateau and warm up before setting off to explore the amazingly beautiful Cradle Mountain Lake St Clair National Park which encompasses one of the most famous mountain ranges of Tasmania.

Set off on a walk around Dove Lake which is one Tasmania's old volcanic lakes. Dove Lake is one of the most famous photos of Cradle Mountain... and for good reason with it's crystal clear water and panoramic surroundings. Next if you're feeling brave set off to climb Cradle Mountain itself, but make sure to pack warm clothes and some water and food (as weather conditions can change quickly).

Cradle Mountain Chateau

Day 2: Today enjoy a warm breakfast at Cradle Mountain Chateau before you explore more of the beautiful Cradle Mountain National Park. There are many tours and activities available in this area including:

At the end of the day return to Cradle Mountain Chateau to enjoy a warm, relaxing spa at the Waldheim Alpine Spa and see some local nocturnal wildlife on the "nocturnal animal night viewing tour" and maybe even spot a Tasmanian devil.

Cradle Mountain Accommodation

Day 3: On day 3 check out from your cosy Cradle Mountain accommodation. If you have time, enjoy one last walk through the beautiful Cradle Mountain National Park before setting off back to Launceston. However Launceston has its own unique charm.... maybe you should think about postponing your flight home...?
